Shavlik has enhanced our patch management with major performance improvements as well as lots of new functionality around the antivirus functionality to simplify the IT management experience.

New features in Shavlik NetChk Protect v7.6:

• Patch Scan caching abilities improves performance, especially over WANs.
• Agent policy actions provides the ability to execute as an ad-hoc task (e.g. executing a patch\power\asset task, update definitions or binaries, clearing retry counts, etc.).

• Scan specific file/folder/drive – Provides an individual user (agent) the ability to perform a scan of a specific file\folder or an entire USB drive just placed on their computer (from a right-click action in Windows explorer).
• New AV/Threat Reports provides better reporting to the administrator and their management.
• AV Alerting from console provides the administrator automatic alerting when new threat breakouts occur.
• Exclude files/folders from being scanned provides the administrator the ability to exclude files/folder from being scanned, such as: policy-driven w/ wildcards, environmental variables), ability for the administrator to exclude files/folders that you don’t want to scan for performance or other reasons.
